Our meeting today was highlighted by a visit from the
Costa Bros from Mildura. Don & Paul Costa are attending their 12th
Country Music Festival. They spoke very highly of the organization &
general running of the Festival & rate it the "Best in the world".
Judging by the number of people in Peel Street watching their
performance it is not hard to work out that the general public rate the
Costa Bros very highly also. 21/01/04 |

Newton, head of the C.M.A.A College brought along two of his students,
Becky Willis from Brisbane & Drew McAlister from Sydney. They
entertained us with a couple of "own composition" songs in true country

the Country Music College is used to promote such exciting new talent as

At today's meeting our guest speaker Peter Schroeder,
gave us an excellent insight to the problems surrounding the Registered
Clubs Association and the State Government's poker machine tax. It would
appear that no matter which way the clubs go they are fighting a losing
battle. The Government has seized on a means of "Topping Up" the coffers
and is going full steam ahead no matter what. 19/11/03 |

The guest speakers were Shan Chain & Tim Hansen who are
our National Youth Science Forum candidates going to Canberra in late
January 04. They presented an excellent roundup of their preparation and
expectations of the N.Y.S.F. 12/11/03 |

Dr Les Rae and Fred Edwards gave us a very good insight
into the way we can "Lend a Hand" by going on a F.A.I.M. trip to the
Solomons. The experience and enjoyment that can be obtained from going
on one of these trips will surely motivate someone from our club to
volunteer for this worthwhile project. 05/11/03 |
